Love Letter

Overwhelmed by visual stimuli
I've forgotten the 16 things I was meaning to Google in the last 24 hours

Maybe if I rewind to that episode where a mental lightbulb was lit it would come back to me?
Or maybe if I just slow down and stop, close my eyes and try and empty my mind the best thing will appear magically?

How much of your life is wasted because you forgot to record to relive it later?
Does spontaneous ideating to spontaneously forgetting the idea mean you should obsessively stop and write the second the idea strikes you as lightning?

And if it's visual stimulus that's the brainchild of the idea, does blinking repeatedly (not unnaturally) over time add to the idea's erosion?

There's so much you can do with your time if you pay attention to your brain. If you amuse yourself thoroughly with every idea and allow yourself to go down the deliciously fulfilling internet research of it. Or even your own musings!

How do you ensure the security of such a mind? And by securing it I mean not feeling insecure everytime a good idea is washed away by thoughtlessness or forgetting or one night's sleep.

There's nothing more intimate than the confines of your mind. Nothing more unique, nothing with more individuality. Your mind can unleash the best version of the best book you ever read, the best (or worst) experience you've ever had, or the most amazing idea you ever heard or thought of.

And this can manifest itself in a lot of ways. It could be a dream that's beyond comprehension to others but makes beautiful sense to you. It could be a line you read from the local news that triggers a profound thought chain only you can benefit from. It could be an innocuous question a child asks you that gives you a whole new outlook on the world.

It could be an inanimate fixed object on the bathroom floor that you can imagine to be a face, a scenery, anything. And it's yours. Yours to keep secret with yourself. Yours to treasure. The reason behind you half-smiling to yourself everytime you see it while you're shampooing.

Trust your mind. Invest in it. Nurture it. Embrace it. Spend alone time with it more than with the mindlessless of mundane life. That's what teeth brushing, pot sitting, bus waiting, commuting, cleaning, decluttering, grooming, all give you a chance to do.

The relationship with your mind is sanct. It's the highest form of truth. The most important intangible. The biggest determinant of whether your morning, day, week, weekend, month, or year will go as you'd like it to.

Your sense of self is your relationship with your mind. Your sense of right and wrong is your relationship with your mind. Your sense of happiness is your relationship with your mind.

Inside my thought canopy

She opens my eyelids comically and methodically
With adorably squinty concentrating effort
Takes a spoonful of sleep and pours it in systematically

Just like that I feel the carby slowdown of my entire body
My declining posture from sitting to half sitting to the most bad-for-your-back half lie down

Sleep, she comes in such a sure and entitled way:
"I own you for the next 7-9 hours"
Mr. Bladder quietly from downstairs, "We'll see about that"

Sometimes, Sleep, see she can elude you. No rest for the wicked is what people say. An empty mind is the devil's workshop they say. But aren't you supposed to empty your mind in order to attract a restful state of mind conducive to sleep?

Does lucid dreaming come easily to Type As?
It would be frustrating for them if it didn't

There's so much you can do instead with the time you're body's slaved to sleep

Invention of water vacuums or is it vaccums
That would make it so no toilet floor would ever stay wet for too long
Place it on top of the drain and let it come on automatically every hour on the hour
And that's how you can have dry bathroom floors forever!

If people were fabrics
Vegetarians would be cotton and non-vegetarians would be silk
Some people feel like cotton even though they're non vegetarian and some people feel like silk even though they're vegetarian
When I say feel I don't mean the touch feel but their vibe

Nina Sky sounds like two voices so is it a two girl band and the sounds are so similar like two sisters.
Sometimes when my sister and I sing it sounds like a single voice being echoed and if we ever became a band together I would call us 'Twosis' but instead of you pronouncing it as two-sis you'd have to say it as 'tiwwosis' which sounds unique and cool and clever

Hindu cats are infidels 🐱

No really
See
They say cats have nine lives
This means
When two cats have a Hindu wedding
They only vow to be together for the next 7
This means
Their last two lives they move on with other cats

A wise man would argue that this is not infidelity
Because technically the commitment was for 7 lives not 9
And that technically also the commitment is for 7 human lives not cat lives

The romantic man would say rewrite the vows to make it 9
Sorry I mean romantic cat

It's to be said that a commitment of 7 lives is finite
If a Hindu marriage is so sanct, why impose a limited period in the first place

A wise man would argue that there is no life after 7 lives and that's why the commitment is finite

Another wise man would say 1 life is enough and finite or infinite, commitment has to be towards something known. It is unknown what lies after this life is ended.

But that wise man is not Hindu so it doesn't matter what he thinks

Say When 🥄

When you leave it unread
And your curiosity is left unfed

When you know it's a Sunday, it comes after six days
And you also know that tomorrow is Monday, today'll pass in a daze

When you're out of bread at the end of breakfast
And there's one last morsel of runny egg it missed

When you jump, bum first, into the baby pool
And realise a step would have been far less cruel

When you style your hair using a curling iron
And the voices say today's a good day for dyin'

When you want to become a professional breakdancing bgirl
And decide, at 27, a single headstand is easier to learn

When you're really craving rich cheesy Polish pierogi
And end up ordering Tibetan momos unhappily

When you're writing peacefully after months on Keep
And there's constant talking around interrupting your ability to be deep

When you're focused, to be true, the background stays there
And you don't need to make excuses as you've got the flair

When you forget to note the four good ideas you had over four weeks
And instead write spontaneously and end up with this, eeks

When at least there's one dark line
And 'iron' and 'dyin'' is actually a brilliant rhyme

When you're totally unsure about adding a ' to dyin'
And you do it anyway because you ain't shyin'

When you dreamt you rode a houseboat to live in a shikara
And you don't fully grasp the seriousness of the situation in Kashmir, ah

When being insensitive and not taking something seriously
And you know that one's a lack, and the other, a choice, see

When while creating a list of whens and ands
And you can't think of more whens and ands

Miss's Scented Senses

Permanence comes from being resolute
Which means having resolve and being determined to stand by your resolution
But what good is permanence in a transient world?
Where the resolutions are transient themselves
Change annually, predictably too, on the eve of a New Year
We seem to love a new slate so much
The promise of starting anew "from this Monday", "from the 1st of next month", "from the first day after my birthday"

Aye but I didn't come here to write about something substantial so...

Imagine walking into a hospital with 4 stones and coming out with just three. How do you have the gall to do such a thing?!

Such clever musings are the consequence of watching a man stare at a bunch of stones by a bus stop that's just outside a hospital. That joke just wrote itself!

The whole point of taking the bus is to be out of the bus. No other vehicle allows for such wide angled views. Even if the view isn't much to write home about, it's just so much larger than life than from a car or a rickshaw.

If colours were edible you'd have palatable palettes instead of plates.

If your pugnacious pug was ravenous in a cavernous cavern or a palatial palace, would you find food easily? Because space is so spacious, it feels like things can get lost, especially small things would be hard to find.

Stir souls, shake hands, blow minds
Simmer down, boil up
I like food analogies, it's tempting, and stimulating!

What makes good tea good? Greatly grated ginger

Constipated dog faces making weird sounds make for the cutest dog faces. I love you @misterbubz.

Music that Gets me Every Single Time

This was originally going to be a playlist idea of all the songs that really hit me right in the feels but I started writing them down and now I'm too lazy to make it an actual playlist. And it was originally going to be 10 songs but of course it's 30 now. It's too late for me to bother linking these but I'll probably make a playlist someday.

I also thought it would be a nice idea to elaborate why each song gets me every time but then it's too much effort to articulate how each song makes me feel and I think by doing that, it may dilute how pure it is currently.

Music is so much more than we give it credit for.

Without further ado, here is the list of my top 30 ultimate favourites that make me feel the most feelings that I could think of in the past 30 minutes.

Am using amusing lines

Aniket's funny Kate, the gujju kitten

I'm not a cat person, but with growing older and all that comes with moving away from people to moving closer to animals, one thing you come to realise is that cats are just hopelessly hungry dogs who happen to love cleaning themselves more

Sheldon, the don of shells

Little shells donned in a necklace is so beachy and the don of shells wears multiple such endo(r)nments that don('t) really make him look very formidable as a don should seem but the ocean and its creatures fear him just the same

A house doesn't feel like a home until...
You walk into the toilet for a tinkle and end up reading 64 pages of the Tinkle double digest and it's 45 minutes later

Lots of happenings continue to happen long after they've happened

If everyone did what they wanted to do all at the same time I think everyone would feel like OMG I think everyone is doing what they want to do and so am I but why am I feeling so good as I shouldn't really care as long as I'm doing what I want to do because I don't think anyone else is happy about me doing what I want to do so why should I give them the benefit of my reciprocy ok wait I think it's reciprocity

Doing nothing is far more satisfying than being nowhere because being somewhere unfamiliar can feel like nowhere sometimes but doing something familiar can feel like doing nothing most times

The Jap chap liked chapstick for his chapped Jap lips

I dug up a list of story ideas I wrote on my Nokia E63 notes in college and now it's lame but I miss my old imagination and ideas now that I'm older

A billion colours. An intense theory about how every person is a colour, and how some people are similar than others because they're part of the same tone or main colour group and how white alpha meets black alpha and they give birth to beautiful grey babies

The eighth dwarf. A suspenseful sequel to The Snow White where an eighth (that's a tonguey word) dwarf brother is discovered and he is, surprise surprise, evil and schemes with the witch or whoever that jealous old lady is in that story to assassinate Snow for good

Two train babies. Ravi paar story by Gulzar we studied back in college had an interesting story about twin babies and them separating on the train or something, undeveloped but could be another sequel.

The seal's squeaky sequel. Just thought of this one

What would Robinson Crusoe do if he was a woman during her period? I guess he would do what the lady in Blue Lagoon did with leaves or something

The Cobra's crowbar
The peculiar pelican

Yeah, now it's out there and all you Pritams of the content world can feel free to "borrow" some of this very refined and profound material. You're welcome.

Oh and what's up with 'dark humour' and 'black comedy'?

ChAI

I used AI to make my chai this morning.   Why? Because I wanted to see if I’d still get that dopamine hit from something I didn’t even make....
